Swedish Massage

Swedish massage did not originate in Sweden, but was developed in Europe (mainly in the Netherlands and France). Dr. Ling promoted the technique at the University of Stockholm in the early 1800's. Swedish massage was introduced to the United States in 1858 as "The Swedish Movement Cure"

In Swedish Massage the masseuse uses up to five different strokes: effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrisage (kneading), tapotement(rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fiber) and vibration. Massage oils are used in order to facilitate smooth, gliding strokes, with some kneading, tapping, stretching and gentle pressure.

Combination massage is the most popular form of massage today. The therapist will start warming up the body with Traditional Thai massage. After that continue the session with some long relaxing strokes of Swedish massage. The combination will relieve stressful lesions along the body and relaxes the muscles in your whole body.

Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in muscles and connective tissue. This massage focuses on the muscles and tissue located below the surface muscles. Deep Tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience pain or stiffness from heavy physical activity, such as athletes, and those with physical injury.

Deep Tissue massage is not simply a stronger or more intense massage. It is a specialized type of massage therapy using a dedicated technique with strokes designed to provide relief. It is not “deep pressure” massage, which is performed with sustained strong or intense pressure. Body Scrub

A body scrub is a popular body treatment that is like a facial for the body. It exfoliates and hydrates your skin, leaving it smooth and soft. A body scrub is done with an abrasive material like salt or rice bran, mixed with massage oil and an aromatic. The therapist will start by gently rubbing the exfoliant on your back, the backs of your arms, and the backs of your legs and feet. Then you turn over and therapist will do the other side.

Hot Stone

The use of hot stones for healing dates back to ancient times, but fairly recently an Arizona massage therapist revived and perfected the technique, and it caught on. In hot stone massage, water-treated, smooth heated stones are placed at key points on your body to promote relaxation and help open energy pathways. Your therapist may begin by applying oil, which allows the hot stones to glide smoothly along your muscles.
